Description

KEITH is providing a full scope of services to include for this mixed-use project with 455 rental units, 13,800 square feet of retail space, and a 4,000 square foot restaurant. KEITH is providing geospatial engineering, planning, civil engineering, traffic engineering, landscape architecture, and construction management services. Lead by development team Urban Co., including art has been a desire from the start of the project. In addition, the project will include other elements to engage the local community in providing market-rate housing and commercial opportunities. Ecologically, the project seeks to provide elements that aid in protecting the site from stormwater, sea level rise, and other mitigating elements. The project includes green and grey infrastructure, and contemplates major improvements to the public realm infrastructure including storm/sewer infrastructure enhancing the surrounding neighborhood. Economically, the project will provide opportunity for work, live, and play environments, as well as increase property values for the overall community. Additionally, in partnership with the CRA, the project is taking a once blighted area and turning it to a redevelopment opportunity, further enhancing the ongoing resurgence of the Sistrunk neighborhood.

The Adderley seeks to create a transformative project in a the burgeoning submarket of Fort Lauderdale known as Sistrunk. Resilient planning requires many facets be considered to ensure a project can stand the test of time and measures a number of social, ecological and economic factors. The Adderley addresses each of these ‘triple bottom line’ components to provide the opportunity to set the tone for future development throughout the neighborhood. Socially, the project worked with the surrounding community to pay tribute to one of the neighborhood icons, Cannonball Adderley, a famous African American Jazz musician.
